Mission Statement
Art has the power to reimagine ecological conditions and challenge environmental injustice.
Our Work
EJAM explores the relationship between art and environmental justice in a variety of contemporary contexts, emphasizing the role of imagination and creativity in critical inquiry, public communication, education, and activism — and related dilemmas.
EJAM and the Environmental Humanities Hub are powered by a dedicated group of students and faculty members at the William & Mary whose interests and expertise span multiple departments and disciplines.
Professor and author Alan Braddock is the creator and director of this collaboratively-constructed online museum and its parent organization (The Hub).
The Environmental Humanities Hub
We are a newly-established community committed to interdisciplinary and inclusive learning enriched by diverse and multicultural perspectives. We seek to harness the strengths of disciplines that run the academic gamut — from the natural sciences all the way to the fine arts — to combat environmental inequity.
We spend our time exploring and researching these points of intersection and points of inflection in the Environmental Humanities, sharing whatever we find along the way.
